Nutrition educators have assisted in coordination of Buy Fresh Buy Local Cape Cod with the mission of connecting people and businesses on the Cape with locally grown farm and sea products.  Through Buy Fresh Buy Local Cape Cod, resources are created to assist individuals and families in purchasing, cooking, and storing fresh foods. Find farmers and markets that accept HIP, and other info on programs aimed at affordability and access to locally grown fruits and vegetables.

In previous years, Nutrition Educators have conducted cooking demonstrations at area farmers markets as well food preservation workshops focused on freezing and drying techniques, canning tomatoes, and homemade holiday gift giving ideas with an underlying theme of utilizing locally grown ingredients whenever possible. This project was made possible through grant funding from Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources.
