The Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod presents its Spring Gardening Symposium, “Sustain Yourself!  A Happy Healthy Approach to Your Home Garden.” Saturday, April 25, 2020, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Transform your home garden into a beautiful, edible, low-maintenance with three pioneers of the sustainable gardening movement, Brie Arthur, Ellen Ecker Ogden and Jessica Walliser who will demonstrate how to design a garden filled with flowers and food that you’ll love to grow. Explore strategies for attracting good bugs while discouraging the bad bugs, deer, rabbits and voles. Choose the most delicious edibles, colorful natives and stunning perennials to add beauty and nutrition to your planters and home landscape while cutting down on maintenance.

From having a party ready patio to a bountiful property border, noted foodscape visionary Brie Arthur helps you enrich your garden with colorful native plants mixed with unconventional food crops for both containers and landscape using easy, earth-friendly techniques.

Cookbook writer and garden designer Ellen Ecker Ogden advocates modern design for old-fashioned gardeners. She shares her vision of creating beauty and deliciousness year after year through garden design and a plantings that give you more flavor and serenity in your home sanctuary.

You’ll never look at bugs the same way again when you hear writer and radio host Jessica Walliser humorously describe the cycle of predator and prey in your garden. Walliser explores how the garden’s natural balance depends on the intricate connection between plants and insects.

The place is Our Lady of Victory Function Hall, 230 Main Street, Centerville from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $50 and include lectures, morning coffee, lunch and entry into a raffle featuring plants and unusual gardening tools. Parking is free. Registration deadline is April 10.
