4-H Volunteer Information
What is a 4-H Volunteer?
In 4-H, young people "learn by doing" through volunteers and partners like you. 4-H collaborates with individuals and community organizations to build strong communities by helping new generations of young people extend their reach through partnership and volunteerism. These individuals and organizations benefit from 4-H resources and approaches and in turn, they enrich 4-H with knowledge and experience. 4-H helps build its all part of the same process, one that begins with YOU showing that what you do matters.
A 4-H Volunteer can be a parent, relative, friend, teacher, youth professional, or athlete who decides that one of the most rewarding things they can do is to spend time with today’s youth between the ages of 5 to 19 years old. Our 4-H Volunteers are mentors, setting an example and a standard for others to follow. All 4-H Volunteers must be officially accepted and enrolled by Barnstable County Extension and agree to a Criminal Offender Records Information (CORI) check.
Volunteers are needed now, more that ever. If you have the enthusiasm and dedication we're looking for, we'll give you the resources you need to organize and lead young members of your community.
Together, we can make the best better!
