Mission
The Barnstable County 4-H and Youth Development Program is dedicated to providing a positive, hands on learning experience which builds character, develops life skills and enables youth to become self directing, productive members of society.

Becoming a 4-H Volunteer

Becoming a 4-H Volunteer is easy.  Once you've made the decision to become a volunteer call the main office 508-375-6690 to set up a meeting.  We will arrange a meeting between you and one of the extension educators to discuss the different program areas in which you could volunteer.  Club leaders are the main area of volunteerism.  Without our leaders we wouldn't have clubs.  If you choose to become a club leader we will help you establish a club.  The subject matter of the club can be anything of your choosing.  It should be something that interests you and that you feel comfortable with.  Here at the office we have cirriculum in most subjects which you can use to help guide you through your meetings.  Remember, you are not alone in this venture, the staff here at 4-H will be here to support you.

Other Volunteer opportunities could include judging at Visual Presentations, both at county or state levels.  Judging at the county fair or leading a community service afterschool program.

However you choose to volunteer the staff here at Barnstable County 4-H is here to support you!
