When you complete this course, you will have learned many skills necessary to become a competent, capable caregiver of young children.
4-H has a history of over 100 years of successfully developing youth potential through its educational programs. Babysitting is only one of the many programs offered that enable youth to develop the life and work skills necessary to thrive in today's world.
What can you expect to learn through this course?
How to solve problems
How to keep children safe and happy while you babysit
How to talk to parents and children
How to make career choices; you may be interested in working as a camp counselor, childcare provider or teacher
How to make responsible decisions
How to handle emergencies
Who is eligible to take this course?
This course is open to boys and girls ages 11 and older.
Classes are held at different locations such as Public Libraries, Community Centers and Schools throughout the Cape. They are taught by one of our trained 4-H associates. Upon completion of the course a participant will receive a certificate and ID card to show they have successfully completed their 4-H Babysitting Course. All 8 hours of class time must be completed before a certificate and ID card is issued.
We are happy that you will be joining our growing group of 4-H trained babysitters!
